Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use Gigtick?

No. Gigtick works fully offline with no account or sign-up. You can start adding concerts right away.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and synced through your own private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) so it's available across your devices. Your concerts, achievements, notes, tickets, and the references to your photos and videos stay in your personal iCloud — nothing is uploaded to our servers, and we can't see any of it.

Why does the app ask for access to my Photos?

For two things: Smart Import, which finds likely past-concert photo clusters on your device, and adding media to a concert. When you attach a photo or video, Gigtick stores a reference to the original in your Photos library rather than duplicating it, so the app stays small.

If I delete a photo or video inside Gigtick, is it removed from my Photos library?

No. Deleting media in the app only removes Gigtick's reference (and any offline copy you downloaded). The original in your Photos library is never touched.

How do I back up my concerts?

Gigtick syncs your concerts, tickets, and achievements automatically through your private iCloud account (CloudKit), as long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID on each device — so they're already backed up and appear on your other iPhone or iPad. Your data is also included in your iCloud device backup, so restoring a new iPhone brings everything back.

I downloaded videos for offline — where do they live?

Downloaded videos are stored on your device so they play instantly without internet, and they stay until you remove them. You can see the size and clear them anytime in Settings → Downloaded.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual concerts in the app, or remove everything at once with Settings → Delete all data. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes all of its data.

Why don't my photos show on another device?

The concert and its details sync through Gigtick's own iCloud sync, but the photo and video originals travel separately, through iCloud Photos. If iCloud Photos is turned off, those items may not appear on a second device even though the concert does. Videos you explicitly downloaded for offline are kept by the app itself and always play.
